What We Cover

Jump to what you need tested

Fire Extinguishers

6-monthly inspection Yearly service 5-yearly pressure test (some types 3-yearly)

Every extinguisher on your premises needs a 6-monthly check - pressure gauge, tamper seal, safety pin, hose condition and accessibility - with tag updated on the spot. A more detailed yearly service builds on that, and a 5-yearly hydrostatic pressure test (3-yearly for some extinguisher types) confirms the cylinder itself is still safe to hold pressure.

  • Required in almost every commercial premises - offices, warehouses, retail, hospitality, construction sites
  • Discharged, damaged or corroded units are recertified, or replaced with a new extinguisher on the same visit
  • Every extinguisher gets a dated tag and is logged in your digital asset register

Fire Blankets

6-monthly inspection

Fire blankets are checked every 6 months for condition - the pouch, the pull-tabs, and the blanket material itself. A blanket that's been used, contaminated, or has a compromised pouch is replaced immediately, since there's no partial repair for a fire blanket.

  • Common in commercial kitchens, labs and workshops, alongside extinguishers
  • Checked for correct mounting location and clear access
  • Failed or used blankets replaced with a new unit, supplied and fitted by us

Fire Hose Reels

6-monthly inspection Yearly flow test 5-yearly hydrostatic test

Hose reels get a detailed visual inspection and functional check every 6 months. Once a year, that expands to a full hose inspection plus a measured water flow test, confirming the reel still delivers water at the rate it was designed for. Every 5 years, the hose itself undergoes a hydrostatic pressure test to confirm it can still safely hold pressure under use.

  • Standard in most commercial and multi-storey buildings
  • Checked for correct signage, clear access, and working nozzle lock
  • Flow rate tested against the building's design requirement, not just "does water come out"
  • Worn hoses, nozzles and reel parts replaced, so a failed test doesn't mean finding another supplier

Fire Suppression Systems

6-monthly Yearly 3-yearly

Suppression systems - the kind fitted above commercial kitchen cooklines and in trucks and vehicles carrying flammable loads - are tested, tagged and serviced on a schedule that depends on the specific system and manufacturer requirements, typically a mix of 6-monthly, yearly and 3-yearly intervals. We test, tag and service existing systems; we don't currently install new suppression systems.

  • Common in commercial kitchens (over cooklines and fryers) and service vehicles
  • Nozzles, cylinders, detection links and manual releases all checked for correct function
  • Full service history kept per system for insurance and audit purposes

Exit & Emergency Lighting

6-monthly discharge test Yearly inspection

Exit signs and emergency lighting run on AS/NZS 2293.2, separate from AS 1851. Every 6 months, each fitting undergoes a 90-minute battery discharge test to confirm it can run on battery power for its full rated duration if mains power fails. Annually, that's backed by a full inspection of every fitting, lens and mounting.

  • Required in almost every commercial building along escape routes and exits
  • Battery health checked and flagged before it becomes a failure
  • Failed plug-in exit signs, emergency lights and batteries replaced
  • Full logbook and compliance certificate after every visit

What we look out for

Fire equipment can develop faults between scheduled services - especially in high-traffic or outdoor areas. Here's what we check for, and what you can watch for too.

โš
Dented or corroded extinguishersAny dent, rust patch or corrosion on the cylinder - this can compromise its ability to hold pressure safely.
โš
Low or over-pressure gaugeThe needle should sit in the green zone - anything in the red means it needs attention now, not at the next visit.
โš
Fraying or cracked hosesCracks, soft spots or fraying anywhere along a hose reel - a compromised hose can burst under pressure.
โš
Brackets pulling from the wallA loose or failing mounting bracket means the extinguisher or reel may not be there - or usable - when it's needed.
โš
Broken tamper sealsA missing or broken seal on an extinguisher means it may have been used or tampered with since the last check.
โš
Signage missing or blockedFire equipment signage that's obscured, faded, or missing - or equipment itself blocked by stock or furniture.
Spotted an issue? Don't wait for the next scheduled service - give us a call and we'll get out to assess it, and replace it if it can't be fixed.
Repairs & Replacements

Failed a test? We replace it.

We don't just tag something as failed and leave you to find a supplier. If a piece of equipment doesn't pass, we supply and fit the replacement, so you're compliant again without a second call.

Fire extinguishers

Damaged, discharged or out-of-date extinguishers swapped for new units, plus brackets and signage.

Fire blankets

Used, contaminated or damaged blankets replaced and mounted in the right spot.

Hose reels

Cracked hoses, faulty nozzles and worn reel parts replaced, not just reported.

Exit & emergency lights

Plug-in exit signs, emergency lights and batteries that fail their discharge test, replaced on the spot.
