  • Extension leads, power boards and RCDs
  • Office appliances - computers, printers, kettles, microwaves and fridges
  • Kitchen and workshop appliances
  • Site lights, leads and portable equipment on construction sites

Tradies & Offices

Trade tools and office appliances, both covered

Whether it's a ute full of power tools or an office full of computers, we test and tag it.

Trade tools

Drills, grinders, saws, compressors, site lights, leads and battery chargers. The gear that takes a beating on site and needs testing most often, tested at your site or yard.

Builders, sparkies, plumbers & trades

Office appliances

Computers, monitors, printers, kettles, microwaves, fridges and power boards. Tested where they sit, so there's no packing up or carting gear around.

Offices, shops & staff kitchens
Who Needs It & How Often

Retest intervals depend on your environment

AS/NZS 3760 sets different testing frequencies depending on where and how equipment is used. Higher-risk environments need more frequent checks.

Construction & demolition

The highest-risk category - equipment is tested every 3 months due to constant movement and harsh conditions.

3-monthly

Factories & workshops

Regular industrial use calls for testing every 6 to 12 months, depending on your risk assessment.

6-12 monthly

Offices & retail

Lower-risk environments are typically tested every 5 years, or on staff/tenant changeover.

Up to 5-yearly

Not sure which category applies to you? We'll assess your site and set the right schedule - no guesswork.

Between Visits

What we look out for

You don't need to wait for your next scheduled test to spot a problem. Here's what tells us - and can tell you - that a piece of equipment needs attention now.

โš
Frayed or cut cablesExposed wiring anywhere along the cord, even a small nick in the outer sheath.
โš
Bent or discoloured plugsPins that are bent, loose, or a plug body that's browned or melted from heat.
โš
Cracked or damaged casingAny crack in the tool or appliance housing that could expose internal wiring.
โš
Missing or illegible tagsIf you can't read the test date, treat it as untested until it's checked.
โš
Overheating or burning smellAny equipment that feels unusually hot to touch or smells like it's overheating during use.
โš
Water or moisture exposureEquipment that's been rained on, dropped in liquid, or used in a wet area it isn't rated for.
See something on this list? Pull the item from service and give us a call - we'll assess and retag it, no need to wait for the scheduled visit.
